There will be a story either way

I texted Karina a picture of the largest spider I’d ever seen in our basement. 

“WTF, WHAT HAPPENED?” was the immediate response.


I then realized that the facts in the picture were wildly out of context.


The bloody tissues under the spider were from an innocent baby tooth that hazel lost the day before.


The spider just happened to be hanging out on top of them, and I just happened to notice him, without giving much thought to his carnage riddled surroundings.


In the absence of information we create our own story,

and this will generally be the worst case scenario.


It’s a great reminder to share as much information as possible. 

Transparency and context, pave the road to clarity.


  • Now that’s a peak ethos.
