Avoid overwhelm

I own a briefcase sized metric and SAE socket and wrench set that accomplishes 95% of the mechanical duties that I encounter. I know exactly where it lives and can access it within seconds.

The inverse of this is a large shop I frequently work in. It has thousands of tools, one for every possible task, but finding the right one can be painful, and choosing which to use is often overwhelming.

When it comes to efficiency, simplicity is always best.
