Shifting Inertia

Writer's picture: Luke MillerLuke Miller

James Clear reminded me this week of the trap of inertia. As adults we get comfortable with routines and the ‘sameness’ of life carries us on. This can inhibit new experiences and learning.

People who know me, know that I prioritize routines, training, and sleep.

That’s why this week the acquisition of our new family member, ‘Cosmo’ has caused a shift to my ‘inertia’.

I am experiencing the forgotten joys of small dog ownership, and simultaneously remembering the tribulations of accidents, late night wake-ups, and new responsibilites.

In a world of exponential change, breaking free of the inertia trap is important. And buying a puppy may be the funnest way to add energy in a new direction.

  • Now that’s a peak ethos.
