Hazel and her friend Lana had resounding success selling their homemade ‘slime’ at the Vegreville summer market.
From perfecting the slime recipe and designing the brand to interacting with customers, pitching the product and balancing the float, the event was packed with fun and learning.
Like two seasoned entrepreneurs they converted raw materials of glue, borax, water and food colouring, into dozens of slime filled containers ready to amaze and entertain children and teens alike.
As one of my favourite podcasters, David Freeburg (All-in podcast), recently reminded me of the two classes of people; the builders, and the takers. The builders constantly use their energy to create a better world, while the takers are busy adding layers of bureaucracy and friction that hampers human advancement.
On this sunny afternoon in June, two ten year olds ‘makers’ put on a clinic, transforming basic household ingredients into magic slime, and generating economic activity along the way. Builders in action.
Now that’s a peak ethos.
