Just Because

“I bought you a little something” said my sister Stacey as she tossed me a gift for no reason whatsoever.

She saw the logo on a sweater at a craft brewery that she was visiting, thought it would be cool for my virtual ‘church’ sessions each Sunday, and bought me the gift.

Was I excited to open it? Yes.

Did I feel cool wearing it? Yes.

Did this act of giving remind me of how I might do this for others? Yes.

You don’t need a reason to spoil somebody.

Bring home flowers, drop off donuts, give an honest compliment freely, or buy an item when impulse tells you it would be ‘perfect’ for that person.

Generosity rewards the giver and the receiver.

Surprise somebody you love.

  • Now that’s a peak ethos
